Strategy
You have a wall of 4 hit blocks to push through before you can get to the jellyfish on the bottom right hand side. All the jelly on the left hand side is double jelly and no more pieces will fall down on this side, so try to use what you have there to your advantage. You should be able to pull off a striped and wrapped mix, which will clear a ton of jelly here. Once you go through what you have on the left, go to the right, break through the blocks and try to use the jelly to mix with a striped or wrapped candy to get those pieces that still remain. This is one of the tougher levels to do here.

Patricia Frederick’s Tips for Candy Crush Level 256

Breaking through the blocks on top of the jellyfish is hard so you might start there. If you can make a striped/wrapped combo on the left do that to release a lot of the jellyfish; if not, break the blocks and try to match the jellyfish with specials.

this post helped me a lot. I used the strip/chocolate bomb and got the first time after consulting this site. of course I was stuck for a week before. Thanks. Great tip.

I find most of your commentary to be very useful. It is of no use to do anything on the left side unless combos of any kind can be made. You are much better off with candy in place once the jellyfish are released. Jellyfish are also pretty useless on there own without using them with another special candy. This level is all about combos.

Thanks for sharing your opinion Mindy!

The key to winning at this level is getting a chocolate bomb/stripped candy combo while having a lot of the stripped candy’s color on the left side of the board (the side with the jelly). This will cause most of the jelly to be eliminated in one move. The jelly fish should take care of the rest in later moves.

      Good tips here stefan! Thanks!!

It’s not just “the key” to this level, Stefan, it is literally impossible to do without it. If you look at your board and you cannot make a chocolate/stripe combo on the right side with your first move, you have to re-roll the board.

(The method used in the video where a stripe/wrap combo is made on the left side only worked because it was possible to make a line of fish, and it still required a lucky chain reaction. 80% of the time this won’t work.)
